Volta

The chair’s defining feature is the subtle curve of its rear leg—an idea sparked years ago when a small 3D-printed model I had made warped into an S-shape from heat and sunlight. What began as an accident revealed a more expressive design, one I knew I’d revisit someday.

The silhouette is the result of a long, sometimes unconscious process of observation. VOLTA is a synthesis of many previous attempts I made for myself, and I believe its maturity stems from the fact that this project had been quietly evolving in my mind for years.

Another defining feature of the chair is the precise angle of the tube at the back of the backrest. The tubes are cut and welded at a 45-degree angle, then pressed—a fascinating process that allows for complete freedom in shaping the curve while ensuring consistency, precision, and efficiency in large-scale production.

Its simplicity is more complex than it first appears. It is a chair that thrives on contrasts, with its uniqueness also stemming from the combination of a tubular structure and elegantly curved flat elements. This composition grounds the seat while shaping a silhouette that is both subtle and assertive.

I can see it fitting effortlessly into a variety of environments. Its durability makes it ideal for high-traffic spaces such as cafeterias, schools, and offices.
Available with or without armrests, with or without upholstery, and fully stackable, VOLTA is a highly versatile chair designed to adapt to a wide range of settings.
